The contemporary built form feels enduring – paying homage to the history of the site and the established surrounding landscape. The seven townhomes have a sense of generosity in scale, quality of finish and lifestyle. The initial site visit kindled a deep enchantment for the original homestead, becoming a profound source of inspiration for the interior design journey.

Despite its weathered state, the homestead possessed a captivatingly handcrafted aesthetic, evident in every detail – from the rugged elegance of the stone steps at the entry, to the intricate timberwork and stone masonry framing grand fireplaces, to the ornate ceiling roses overhead. As a unique point of difference, the interior design for the new residences immortalises the history of the previous home, through subtle design cues in contemporary form. Reflecting the architectural tapestry of Hawthorn, the design fosters a seamless interplay of textures from entry to the elegantly appointed powder room.

No. 58 Wattle celebrates the ethos of individuality, offering bespoke joinery and customisable features for residents. Bedrooms on upper floors boast distinct layouts, with some featuring expansive top-floor master suites with serene treetop views. Each home includes private offices, internal lifts, double garages, and ample storage, ensuring comfort and functionality throughout.

The interior design brief was to curate residences that embody the principles of craftsmanship, quality and a profound respect for the site’s historical surroundings. Throughout the design journey, these core values have been meticulously preserved and permeate every facet of the project. Drawing inspiration from the heritage of the location, No. 58 Wattle epitomises a humble elegance within its interiors.
