Melbourne croissanterie, Lune brings light to Armadale’s High Street.
Shorlisted – Eat Drink Design Awards 2022
Lune, an established brand built on purity and precision, called upon Ewert Leaf to manifest an interior that elevated the user experience, represented the brands aspirations whilst also embraced attention to detail. The space was to be void of all visual noise and celebrate the craft of croissant making.
A defined linear direction towards the hand painted gold leaf signage is formed by the standing bar clad in Calacatta Viola, a unique choice of stone, synonymous with the clientele of Armadale.
Directional spots high light a distinct row of meticulously placed, golden pastries, the raw concrete below them forming the perfect canvas. Upon being greeted and placing an order, the customer is then invited to explore the tactile interior, interacting with a variety of textured surfaces.
Our experimental approach allowed us to reengineer Lune’s iconic palette, analysing each material with fresh eyes to create unique synergies between, stainless steel and aged brass, artisan render and polished glass. Concrete was used as an anchor to strengthen the relationship between each finish.
